GRJ Co-ordinator Hannah hosted a meeting at the beginning of the month exploring service leadership. The meeting was an opportunity for the service leaders to discuss the community feedback, collated after GRJ 2012. One key aspect was the co-leadership model, that was piloted in 2012, in which a male chazan and a female chazanit would lead the service together, but in a way that met orthodox halachic requirements.
It was decided that we would continue to roll out this model for 2013, as it was felt it was a suitable model for Grassroots at this time. At the meeting, strategies were suggested to improve how this works in practice . Hannah has further detailed notes from the meetings and is happy to share with anyone via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
