Bookings FAQ:
We are taking bookings for the whole event only (as opposed to individual days),and the amount we ask everyone who joins us to contribute is £35 to cover our (many) costs. As we would really love to create a cohesive atmosphere where we travel through the Yamin Noraim together, rather than just flitting in and out, we are taking bookings just for the whole 3 days, at £35. Bring your whole family! Anyone who is unable to come for financial reasons please contact us and we will make sure you can come.
STUDENTS/ PENSIONERS/ CONCS:
We have tried to keep the cost as low as possible – please talk to us if the cost is a real real obstacle to you attending, and we suggest you just pay what you can. Speak to Rachel at grassrootsjews@gmail.com. Please bear in mind that we are just a group of friends creating this event, the vast majority of our costs are covered by the £35 membership contribution and that we hope discounts will just be for people who really really can’t afford to pay the full amount.
FAMILIES: If you are coming as a family, kids and teens under 18 are free. And even if your kids are over 18, we’ll reduce the cost for a whole family attending – if you are a family coming with two or more “kids” over 18, you only need to pay for one of the kids. And grandparents can come for free.
Q: Can I come just for Yom Kippur ? Can I come just for one day on RH?
A: Yes. But the vast majority of our funds comes from our £35 membership. So if you’d like to come just for one or 2 of the days , we’d still encourage you to send us £35. But if that’s really unaffordable for you, we’d suggest a contribution of £20/£25 per day on YK and £15 per day on RH. Of course talk to us if this is prohibitive or if you are coming as a family we can reduce the cost. Please do bear in mind that we are just a group of friends creating this event, and that we hope discounts will just be for people who really really can’t afford to pay the full amount.
Q: Do I have to book or can I just show up ?
A: Yes you have to book. Our marquee can only fit in 180 people, and we sold out both years so far, so book ahead!
Q: Do I need to bring a ticket with me ?
A: No, we are not using paper tickets. Your name will be on a list of people who have booked.
Venue
Q: Where is Grassroots this year?
A: A marquee in the garden of the Moishe House in Willesden. We will send you the exact address when you book.
Meals
Q: What pot luck meals are you doing ?
A: There will be pot luck lunches at the Moishe House on BOTH days of Rosh Hashana. If you are coming, please do bring a vegetarian dish to share.
Q: Are there pot luck evening meals ? No, there are currently NOT plans for pot luck meals in the evenings. For out-of-towners staying at the Moishe House, there will be a pot luck meal, but that is a very small affair just for people staying there, and if you are coming to that, please bring a vegetarian dish to share.
Hospitality
Q: Can you help me find a place to stay nearby ?
A: We would love to help. We are starting an accommodation message board where you can post if you can offer someone a bed or sofa to sleep on nearby, or if you are looking for a place to stay. If you know people in the Willesden ‘hood who can host, please do mention this to them!

There is also a space for people to sleep over in a large room at the Moishe House. . If you want to crash at the M House, no need to tell us, just come and stay, but please bring your own camping mattress and bedding.
